Budget Heating, Cooling & Plumbing took the opportunity at our recent annual Family Fun Day event, hosted to show appreciation to our staff and their families, to help give back to the HVAC community through a donation to The Joseph Groh Foundation.
The mission of the foundation is to serve as a clearinghouse of information for those with spinal cord injuries, encouraging companies to offer and employees to purchase short and long-term disability insurance, and financially assist those with a connection to the construction trades industry who are living with a life altering injury or illness.
2016 recipients of The Joseph Groh Foundation have received: Assistance purchasing a WalkAide medical device. WalkAide is an FDA approved medical device that leverages functional electrical stimulation (FES) to improve or enable the walking ability of people living with foot drop.
The generosity of donors in 2016 enabled the foundation to help the family of a disabled teen purchase a vehicle, along with materials for a safety railing and a secondary emergency ramp to and from their house.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, the foundation was also able to help a disabled technician replace the engine in his car, as well as correct some other issues. He is now evaluating a variety of new employment opportunities!
A charity raffle was held at Family Fun Day. Everyone in attendance received one free ticket for the drawing. Additional tickets were sold for one dollar each. Budget Heating, Cooling & Plumbing matched every dollar donated. The winner received a new 43” television that was donated by Gateway Winnelson.
At Budget we believe that everybody in the trades is a part of a larger team and always do our best to give back to the community and industry. We would like to thank all of the donors that were involved and are encouraged by their continued support.
We also would like to congratulate Greg Meyer, winner of this year’s charity raffle!
