4 Common Types of AC Repairs

Split System, Central Air Conditioners

These are some of the most common cooling systems you’ll see. The unit inside the home draws in heat and moisture and then releases through an outdoor unit.

Packaged Air Conditioning Systems

As the name implies everything, from heating and cooling, is contained within one unit. A lot of times you’ll see these types of units on a roof and used in a commercial building.

Heat Pumps, Variation Of A Common System

During the hot months the heat pump will draw heat from inside the home and release it outside. Alternatively during the cold months it’ll draw heat from the outside air and bring it into the home.

Ductless Mini-Split Systems

Mini-splits are usually found within buildings or homes without proper ductwork. There is an outdoor unit and indoor unit that work in tandem to deliver cooling and heating needs to specific areas or rooms.

Split System, Central Air Conditioners

Even with regular air conditioning maintenance, all parts in an AC eventually fail with age. Air conditioners are oftentimes running at full speed for months during the summer, which can cause important parts to stop working. We keep our trucks stocked, so you can get fast, efficient service. Whether you get a crack in your coil or your compressor stops compressing, we’ve got the service you need.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are very similar to a regular air conditioning system. The biggest difference is, just like its name suggests, a heat pump can also heat your home during the colder months. So just like an AC, heat pumps can be used heavily in the Summer, so small parts can break down during heavy use.

Packaged Air Conditioning System

Frequently referred to as PTAC’s, Packaged air conditioning systems are frequently found in commercial spaces and hotels. PTAC’s can both heat and cool a space. They are extremely useful in the right circumstances, but these units are subject to freezing up during the Summer if a system has a refrigerant leak. If your system is freezing up, shut it down and let it thaw off. Then give us a call for service!

Ductless Mini-Split Systems

Mini-splits are great units for spaces like small business or additions on to a home that do not have access to ductwork. They have both indoor and outdoor units that work together to heat and cool a home. Because they rely on line sets, they have the potential to leak. Also, because the unit both heats and cools, it is almost always on, which can cause parts to fail.
