The Benefits of a higher Seasonal Energy Efficient Ratio (SEER) Air Conditioner

The SEER rating of your air conditioning system determines how efficient it is at cooling your home, with the minimum SEER rating being 14 (13 was phased out in 2022) and everything above 16 considered high efficiency. You should consider a high efficiency system for these reasons:

  • Lower Utility Bills
  • The higher the SEER rating, the more efficient the system is, which translates directly to saving you money on energy bills. Switching from an old 8-SEER system to a 16 SEER system will save you up to 50% on this portion of your energy bill!
  • Environmental Impact
  • High efficiency systems use less energy and burn fewer fossil fuels, which means they generate significantly less greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Humidity Control
  • High SEER systems don’t only help keep your air at the perfect temperature. They also work to remove moisture from the air which keeps your home comfortable and reduces airborne bacteria.

Which Water Heater Is Best for You?

Between standard gas water heaters and electric, tankless water heaters, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. Tankless water heaters will be more energy efficient and allow you to use more hot water at a time. These will always be ideal for larger homes, but traditional water heaters are less expensive to install and maintain.

How Long Will My Installation Take?

An average HVAC system installation can take anywhere from four to eight hours. This means that the process of removing the old unit and turning on your new system should take just about a day.

If there are no unexpected issues, our plumbers should be able to complete your water heater installation in 2-3 hours.

How Long Will My New Equipment Last?

While the Department of Energy recommends replacing your HVAC system once every 10 years, new furnaces and air conditioners can last anywhere from 10-25 years with proper maintenance and upkeep!

New tankless water heaters can have a lifespan of up to 20 years or more, while traditional water heaters can last from 10 to 15 years! It is time to upgrade to New Equipment! Learn about our New Equipment Credit!
