Drain Cleaning

We are your local drain clearing specialist for St. Charles and St. Louis county. Here at Budget, we believe that drain cleaning services should be a regular part of your home maintenance plan just like with your heating and cooling systems. Having your drains operate quickly and efficiently on a daily basis is something that every owner needs, but not something you think about. Having your homes drain regularly cleaned, can not only ensure they are clear but can also help identify any problems such as cracks or corrosion.

Clogged drains can have a big impact on your comfort. From bad smell, slow drains to even the potential for water damage.

We use water proof cameras attached to the end of a wire to inspect your drains and look for any potential issues like tree roots or a collapsed pipe.

Most homeowners don’t think about the plumbing under their home. However unground leaks can cause a lot of damage if left undetected.

Cleaning vs Clearing

To most people “cleaning” and “clearing” may mean the same thing in some context. However, when it comes to drains they are two very different things. Your drain technician will recommend one or the other depending on your situation. They both have their uses and can help improve your plumbing system.

This refers to the process of breaking up a clog in a drain using a standard drain cable. Once the clog is dislodged, it allows the water to begin to run through the drain again. This process is quick and a great option for homes with an older piping system that may be more fragile.

Drain cleaning involves using an advanced tip on the cable which allows us to cut away tree roots, fat, oil, grease, (F.O.G), feminine products or anything else that is causing clogs to reappear. Sometimes additional products are needed to slow the regrowth of tree roots within your line.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses specialized tools to push highly pressurized water through your plumbing pipes. This water then breaks apart and removes problematic buildup inside your pipes—including roots, fat, oil, grease, (F.O.G), mineral and limescale buildup, random debris, and even large items like tree roots.

Common causes of clogged drains

  • Hair
  • Soap
  • Dirt
  • Fat, oil and grease (F.O.G)
  • Food waste
  • Diapers
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Too much toilet paper
  • Cat Litter
  • Tree roots
  • Mineral build-up

The best way to prevent a clogged drain is by being proactive with regular drain cleanings. Just call Budget to schedule your annual drain maintenance and protect your home from clogs and potential damage from back ups.

BIO-CLEAN is an industrial strength cleaning solution that can help continue to clean your pipes between regular cleanings. It works to keep your drains clear after a deep cleaning.

How it works

BIO-CLEAN is a special combination of natural bacteria and enzymes that survive on eating the dead organic waste found in your plumbing system: grease, hair, soap scum, food particles, paper and cotton. BIO-CLEAN does not have any effect on inorganic materials such as plastic pipes. It does not produce heat, fumes or boiling the way other drain cleaning chemicals do.

What is your main drain?

The main drain is the pipe that carries away all the water from your home and pushes it out into your main sewer line drain. Your main sewer drain is located directly below the slab of your home’s lowest level and connects to a drain. This line can become clogged and result in a backup if not properly cared for. Sewer line repairs result in expensive damage and should always be left to a professional.

Drain line repairs

When you have a collapsed line or tree roots have grown into it, you will need to have your drain repaired or a floor break as it is commonly known. This process involves digging up your home’s slab to access the area of the pipe that is having an issue.

Once the pipe is exposed, we will remove any pipe that is broken or has roots in it and replace it with new pipe. Next, we will attach the new pipe to the rest of your existing drain. In some cases, it will require us to break open the floor for several feet to find good pipe to tie back onto if you have a large amount of corrosion or roots in the line.

Next before we fill back in your slab, we will have your county inspector out to ensure that all the work we have done to your drain is correct. As a fully insured, licensed and bonded company, we make sure we do everything up to code. After we pass an inspection, we will fill in around the pipe and pour concrete over the hole bringing it to a rough finish.

Signs you need a sewer line repair

  • Bad odors
  • Cracked or unsettled foundation
  • Lush spots in only one part of your lawn
  • Clogged drains
  • Slowing drains

Always love using Budget. We used them in the past around Christmas time and they ensured we didn’t go without hot water. This week our Furnace went out ( it was 31 years old) and they were here the same day to assess what needed done. Then returned the next day to install our new Furnace. Everyone there is so easy to work with. They are professional, their techs are professional, knowledgeable and only have good things to say about the company they work for. We worked with Gabe and Mike. They were both excellent! Kaitlin in the office only made our experience even better! Thank you!

Contacted the office requesting a quote for a new Furnace and AC unit and they sent out Keith the following day! He was very kind and willing to answer all of our questions and even provided a quote the same day with a cash discount! It took about a week for our parts to come in, the installers arrived on time and were quick to get things rolling. They completed the job quickly and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a new AC unit or furnace to use this company they were wonderful to work with!

Budget is the ONLY company that I trust for plumbing repairs and maintaining my heating/cooling systems. They have done work that others couldn't handle and at a decent price. I will continue to use them for whatever services they offer. I appreciate everything they have done for me so far.

We purchased our HVAC system from Budget in 2019 and have been very pleased with it overall, except recently the AC unit was making a strange noise. The unit sits on an elevated pad which I wanted it to be out on the ground at install but the tech did not have time to change that out. He told me that he would do it at a later date if it bothered us. Budget was quick to fulfill this request and Justin came out to put the unit on the ground. It looks so much better now, but the best part is it is now so quiet when it runs!  Beyond happy with the 5-star service the team at Budget provided. Thanks so much Cassidy and Justin!

Our Hot Water Heater just went out on us unexpectedly and Budget was able to come out the same day, assess everything and lock me down for a time, early next week. The customer service from Jennifer was above and beyond. She was so nice and helped my family. Isiah was very smart and knowledgeable and took the time to explain what was needed and the process. Would definitely use them again.

- Joseph C.

The technician showed up early and solved the issue right away. He was happy to address my questions and concerns regarding my aging HVAC. I was impressed with how knowledgeable he was. Per my request, he sent replacement estimates ranging from good to premier. This is the second time I’ve had great service from Budget.

- Amanda K.

I had a Water Heater installed today. Not only was it quality work, but the installers were professional and courteous. My house poses some unique problems as far as plumbing goes, but the installers handled it with ease. 10/10, will definitely use Budget again.

- Kelly G.

The Faucet in my condo was not working properly, the water flow on the hot water side was very small. Budget sent technician Tim to solve the problem and he replaced the Faucet in an amazingly short amount of time and patiently walked me through the Drainage System. He was highly skilled and efficient! Strongly recommend Budget!

- Tricia G.

We have had Budget out a couple times and they are always very professional, quick to come out once called and helpful! This past time it was Mike and he was great! Every time we need service on our HVAC we will continue to use them. Thank you for all you do!
